Custom 3D Models

Add Custom 3D Models

How to Create Custom Furniture

You can now generate 3D models from a single photo of any furniture to use in your virtual staging.

Whether you have a specific armchair you want to showcase or a unique coffee table, our AI will turn your 2D image into a fully functional 3D model.

Note: Creating a model costs 1 Apply coin. If the generation fails for any reason, your coin will be automatically refunded to your account.

1. Creating Your First Custom Model

Generating your own furniture is simple and happens right inside the Editor.

Step 1: Open the Editor and navigate to the Custom Furniture section in the Gallery panel.

Step 2: Click the Create furniture model from button.

Step 3: Upload a photo of your furniture.

Step 4: If your uploaded image contains multiple items, don't worry! You can use the Isolate feature. Simply describe the item you want (e.g., "the brown sofa on the left") and click Isolate to single it out.

Step 5: Click Create model to start the generation process!

2. Tracking Generation Status

Once you click create, our AI gets to work. Generating a high-quality 3D model takes a little bit of time, between 3-6 minutes. You can track its progress directly on the model's tile in your gallery.

You don't need to wait around—feel free to continue staging your room! We will send you a notification saying "Your model is ready" as soon as it's finished.

3. Adding the Model to Your Scene

Once your model's status is Ready, it acts just like any other piece of furniture in the Apply Design catalog.

Simply click Add to scene on the model's tile, or drag and drop it directly into your room.

4. Editing Your Custom Furniture

Need to tweak how your new model behaves in the room? You can adjust its scale, rotation, and placement rules by clicking the Edit model button on the model's tile.

Inside the Edit menu, you'll see a standard sofa next to your model to help you gauge its real-world size. Here is what you can adjust:

  • Scale & Dimensions: Use the slider to resize your model so it fits perfectly in your space.
  • Base Rotation: Change the default direction your model faces. (Note: Changing this requires "Applying Rotation" to re-bake the model, which will temporarily lock editing while it processes).

Placement Rules: Set these toggles to make dragging and dropping your model smarter:

  • Pin to wall: Turn this on for furniture that should be pushed flat against a wall (like a bed, sofa, or bookshelf).
  • Wall-mounted: Turn this on for items that hang on walls (like paintings, mirrors, or floating shelves).
  • Placed on surface: Turn this on for items that sit on top of tables, shelves, or counters.
  • Is a surface: Turn this on if you want to be able to place other objects on top of this model (like if you generated a dining table or a kitchen counter).

After editing a model, it needs to be re-add to the scene to see the applied changes.

5. Deleting Custom Furniture

If you no longer need a custom model, you can delete it by opening the Edit model menu and clicking Delete.

⚠️ Warning: This permanently deletes your private model and cannot be undone.
